Investing.com-- Chinese circuit board maker Kingboard Holdings Ltd (HK:0148) said on Wednesday its unit Kingboard Laminates Holdings Ltd (HK:1888) had entered a block trade agreement to sell about 155 million shares.
The shares will be sold at a placing price of HK$76.0 per share, raising a net HK$11.77 billion ($1.5 billion).

Kingboard said it will deploy the proceeds towards growing its printed circuit business, building overall production capacity, and also spend on research and development.
Kingboard’s shares surged nearly 18% to HK$117.80 after the announcement, while Kingboard Laminates added 1.9%.
Kingboard manufactures laminates– the base material used for building circuit boards– and PCBs, and is a key player in the chipmaking industry, also supplying the materials to build circuit boards.
Circuit boards are a key component of artificial intelligence servers and data centers, which also consume large amounts of conductive copper and specialized laminates– all of which Kingboard supplies.
