I’m very familiar with UGMA/UTMA and Roth IRAs, 401k, etc., but I realized that a 529 account is superior to any other account for college, and that would be helpful. I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure you can choose another state’s 529 in my state according to my limited knowledge, and certain states have certain benefits. I live in Arizona, so if that helps at all. My parents don’t know anything about custodials or 529s, so I feel I’m finding this all out on my own. They are very smart, but when it comes to investments, I feel the lack of knowledge. If anyone could tell me what I should choose and guide me through the process as well as recommendations of any other accounts I should start (yes, I know custodial Roth IRAs are powerful, but I don’t earn an income).

Of course, my parents would be the ones doing the contributions, as I am only 14 (and yes, I know my time horizon is limited, but it’s better than a HYSA with 3 percent interest being beat by inflation and being net unbeneficial because of how FAFSA deducts financial aid (20 percent deduction from HSAs vs. 5 percent in a 529))
