Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.51%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which rose 3.38% or 0.64 points to trade at 19.43 at the close. Meanwhile, ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 3.13% or 23.00 points to end at 757.80 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 2.85% or 35.20 points to 1,270.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which fell 1.38% or 0.88 points to trade at 62.68 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.28% or 0.53 points to end at 40.98 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 0.92% or 0.05 points to 4.82.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 55 to 42 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) rose to all time highs; up 3.13% or 23.00 to 757.80.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.50% or 1.47 to $99.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.41% or 1.35 to hit $97.27 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.81% or 38.85 to trade at $4,779.15 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 98.51.
