SoftBank Vision Fund CFO to leave company after a decade, Reuters reports

Investing.com-- The chief financial officer of SoftBank Group’s (TYO:9984) Vision Fund investment arm, Navneet Govil, is leaving the company after a decade, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing an internal memo.

Govil, CFO of SoftBank Investment Advisors, joined SoftBank in 2016, a year before the launch of the first Vision Fund, and remained one of the longest-serving senior executives at the investing unit through periods of market turbulence, restructuring, and leadership changes.

The company will provide details on transition responsibilities in due course, the memo added.

Govil’s departure comes as founder Masayoshi Son has increasingly focused on artificial intelligence investments, including a major stake in OpenAI.

The Vision Fund recently benefited from gains tied to its OpenAI investment, helping SoftBank report a record annual profit in May.
