ok so i keep seeing “what do you guys use” threads so figured id just dump my actual setup.
- google finance - the gemini thing in the sidebar actually made it way better than it used to be. you can ask it about a stock or your portfolio and it gives you decent stuff. so cant really say its just charts anymore.
but man the layout is still stuck in like 2004. stocks etfs indexes us markets euro markets all jammed into one page. its trying to do everything at once and even the ai sits inside that messy portal. good engine, ugly house
- gridoasis - went in fully expecting another ai wrapper, like point chatgpt at some ticker data and slap a logo on it. tried it anyway and i was kinda wrong lol. its actually minimal which i wasnt expecting, and the ai isnt the “ask 50 questions” type. theres like a few analyst bots with different investing styles built in so instead of me prompting from zero it just gives you a structured take on the stock. yeah its third party llm underneath but the backend clearly does something cause the answers come out clean and customized not just chatbot mush
honestly simplicity is the whole thing for me. i dont wanna sit there grilling an ai for 20 min (can already do that on gemini/chatgpt and then im feeding it fresh data constantly which sucks). gridoasis just gives me the read and im done
downsides: no mobile apps yet, think theyre building ios/android. and looks like a small team so im not gonna make it my main thing. neat but not betting my whole process on it
- morningstar - still my fav ngl. the depth is just on another level, sometimes one stock takes me literally days but i come out making way better calls. only problem is time. im slammed these days and dont have days to burn on one name so ive started using a personal agent to do the heavy digging and report back to me
