Roblox Corporation (RBLX) appointed Dennis Durkin as an independent director to its board of directors. Durkin will serve on the company’s Audit and Compliance Committee and the Leadership Development and Compensation Committee.

Durkin brings nearly 30 years of experience in technology and video gaming sectors. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and President of Emerging Businesses at Activision Blizzard. Prior to that role, he held several positions at Microsoft Corporation, including Corporate Vice President and Chief Operating & Financial Officer of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, which encompassed Xbox, Xbox Live, and the games business.

During his tenure at Microsoft, Durkin worked in corporate development and strategy, including overseeing pan-European operations. He currently serves on the boards of webAI, Oura Health, and On Holding AG, where he chairs the Audit Committee.

"Dennis has spent his career navigating the complexities of the global gaming market, and his expertise will be a significant asset as we continue to build out our integrated platform," said David Baszucki, founder and CEO of Roblox, according to the company’s statement.

Durkin holds a Bachelor of Arts in government from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. The appointment comes as Roblox continues to operate its global gaming and creation platform.
