Like most of you I had no real process. I would read a 10K, check some ratios, convince myself I understood the business and buy. Half the time I had no idea what would actually make me sell.
So I built something structured. Three stages and you cannot skip ahead. First you have to prove you understand how the business makes money before you see any valuation numbers. Second you go through owner economics, competitive position and what the business is worth under different scenarios. Third you write a premortem and decide your sell trigger before you put capital in.
The point is it forces the right order. You cannot jump to intrinsic value before you answer whether you actually understand the business. Most people do it backwards.
Currently works for MSFT, NKE and ADBE. Not selling anything, no subscription, no email required. Just want to know if the framework is actually useful or if I built something nobody needs.
If you want to try it, let me know
