I’m trying to understand how people who do real stock research manage their process over time.
Not asking for stock picks. I’m just curious about the workflow itself.
For those of you who research companies beyond just checking a chart or headline like what tools do you actually use from idea to research to decision to later review?
For example: Excel, Koyfin, TIKR, Finviz, TradingView, SEC filings, Notion, Obsidian, Google Docs, brokerage notes, etc.
- Do you write down your notes and analysis when you buy, pass, or add something to a watchlist? 2. What is the most painful part in your research workflow when it comes to stocks? 3. Have you tried note apps like Notion, Obsidian, NotebookLM, Docs, etc? If yes, what worked and what felt like overkill or too general?
I’m especially interested in answers from people who research individual companies frequently, not just people who buy broad ETFs.
Trying to understand whether this is a real workflow pain or just something that sounds useful.
