- Blue Owl's Doug Ostrover is selling his stake in the Washington Commanders back to the Harris Group. This follows a significant decline in Blue Owl's stock price, potentially signaling broader concerns within the private credit sector. While not a direct market mover, it reflects financial pressures on a major player in alternative investments.

Investing.com -- Doug Ostrover, the billionaire co-founder of Blue Owl Capital Inc. (NYSE: OWL), is selling his stake in the NFL's Washington Commanders back to the Josh Harris-led ownership group, according to Bloomberg News, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
The move comes three years after Ostrover joined a consortium that paid more than $6 billion for the team in 2023, the largest amount ever paid for a US professional sports team.
Ostrover had already sold part of his stake last year and is offloading the remainder now, one of the people said.
Blue Owl's leaders have seen their wealth decline as shares of the private-credit focused money manager have dropped more than 60% from a January 2025 high.
