
Infleqtion Inc. (INFQ) announced the launch of Quantum Spectrum, which the company describes as a new category within quantum sensing that uses atom-based technology for radio frequency detection.
The platform employs Rydberg atoms as the sensing medium to replace conventional RF front ends with atom-based detection that operates across the full RF spectrum from hertz to terahertz in a single aperture, according to the company’s statement.
Infleqtion has active defense contracts in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia for developing atom-based RF sensing systems. In the U.S., the company is working with the Army’s DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory on the Robust, Integrated Quantum Electromagnetic Receiver project to design a transportable quantum RF demonstration system.
The UK program, called Quantum Direction Finding, is funded by Innovate UK and focuses on developing a deployable quantum RF direction-finding system. In Australia, Infleqtion is developing a Quantum-Optimized Broadband Rydberg Atom Receiver System under the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator program.
"We’ve been developing atom-based RF sensing for nearly a decade, and the milestones we’ve reached make clear that now is the time to accelerate with greater corporate focus," said Matt Kinsella, CEO of Infleqtion.
The company has partnerships with prime integrators including Dell Federal, L3Harris, and SAIC for the development and deployment of these systems. Infleqtion cited McKinsey estimates placing the quantum sensing market at approximately $31 billion by 2040.
Quantum Spectrum is designed to address challenges in contested electromagnetic environments where conventional RF systems face jamming, spoofing, and signal interference, according to the press release.
