Quantum X Labs Inc. (QXL) appointed Professor Oren Kurland to its newly formed Scientific Advisory Board, the company announced. The board will provide strategic scientific guidance and validate the company’s technological direction in quantum science and engineering.
Kurland serves as a professor and endowed chair at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where he has been a faculty member since 2006. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University and specializes in information retrieval, data science, and artificial intelligence.
The professor co-founded the Technion’s bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Data Science and received the institution’s Yanai Prize for teaching excellence. He sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers.
Kurland has received research awards from Google, Yahoo, and IBM multiple times. His research collaborations include work with major technology companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Yahoo, and eBay. He has also provided consulting services to startup companies, particularly in e-commerce.
The appointment supports Quantum X Labs’ scientific leadership as the company develops quantum technologies including quantum gyroscopes for GPS-denied navigation, atomic clocks, quantum error correction, and quantum applications in biomedicine and cybersecurity.
Quantum X Labs focuses on quantum technology, digital advertising, computing, and enterprise artificial intelligence solutions through its subsidiaries. The company’s units include Quantum X Labs Ltd., which develops quantum algorithms for transportation, drug discovery, and security sectors, along with GPS replacement solutions.
