Hold (longterm) or Sell if 100% the profit ?

I am currently up around 100% on a few semiconductor/AI-related stocks (NVDA, MU, TSM, and a couple others). I never wanted to sell for short term, I am looking for long term and not into active tradings. Just buy and forget... But I did the same with ORACLE and had 62% gain but I did not sell and it went back from profiting to -2% loss.

Now I am at a decision point and trying to think strategically:

  • Do I take profits and lock in gains? * Or hold long term since the AI/semi trend could still have a lot of runway?

A few things I am considering:

  • These stocks can be volatile and I do not want to give back big gains (especially the war going on, inflation, stagflation, recession) * At the same time, selling too early could mean missing a bigger move * I am debating whether partial profit taking makes more sense vs full hold for long term ?

Curious how others here approach this situation:

  • Do you trim positions after a 100% gain? * Do you take out initial capital and let the rest ride? * Or just hold through volatility if the long-term thesis is strong?

Would appreciate hearing different strategies and real experiences.
