When I was younger, I lived through the dot-com bubble and its collapse, and then a few years later the financial crisis. Because of that, I invest very cautiously and have a conservative portfolio.

Around me, there are several younger people who only started investing in recent years, and they put all their money into meme stocks. They know nothing about economics, fundamental analysis, or market psychology, yet almost everything they’ve invested in over the past few years has doubled within months.

Whenever we talk about investing and I bring up things like the economy, the Fed, inflation, interest rates, P/E ratios, or the possibility of a bubble, they don’t even understand what I’m talking about. Instead, they joke about how I’ve been in the market for so long and still haven’t become a millionaire.

And as time goes on, it feels more and more like they’re right and I’m wrong.
