TD Cowen raises global GLP-1 sales forecast to $150B by 2030

Investing.com -- TD Cowen increased its global sales forecast for GLP-1 treatments to $150 billion by 2030, up from a previous estimate of $139 billion. The projection covers both Type 2 diabetes and obesity treatments.

The firm now expects approximately 59 million patients to receive treatment by 2030, an increase from its earlier forecast of 46 million. TD Cowen said price reductions should be balanced by higher treatment volumes.

Oral weight loss medications are expected to gain market share, with TD Cowen projecting these formulations will account for 14% of global sales by 2030, up from a prior estimate of 11%.

Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) and Novo Nordisk (NYSE: NVO) are forecast to maintain their market leadership, with projected value shares of 62% and 31%, respectively.
