ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Macy's isn't the only national chain leaving Crossroads Center mall. Francesca's will depart the St. Cloud area mall as signage states the store will close at the end of the month.
On March 17, signage in the store's window announced a 50-70% off sale throughout the entire Crossroad Center mall Francesca's location.

The Francesca's closure comes after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey on Feb. 5, according to USA TODAY. The nationwide chain is closing stores across the country, not just its St. Cloud location.
Francesca's was founded in 1999, according to USA TODAY. It sells items like sweaters, cardigans, jewelry and other feminine clothing items. Nationwide, there are more than 450 stores that collectively employ more than 3,400 people.
USA TODAY reported Francesca's owes money to at least 1,000 creditors. A court filing listed Francesca's has $10 million to $50 million in assets, as well as $50 million to $100 million in liabilities.

Despite the chain's decline, Francesca's Chief Financial Officer Curt Kroll wrote in a release that the company wants the closure process to be done responsibly, according to USA TODAY.
"We remain focused on operating responsibly and supporting our teams, partners, and guests throughout this process,” Kroll wrote.
Other clothing stores at Crossroad Center include Maurice's, Torrid, Ragstock, Mins Fashions, Hollister and American Eagle, according to the mall's website.
