Netflix, AST SpaceMobile, and Jabil lead today's Trending Tickers

Market Domination host Julie Hyman breaks down today's Trending Tickers, including Netflix (NFLX), which is denying reports of acquisition interest in Lionsgate (LION); AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) continues to trend up as it successfully launched satellites with the help of SpaceX (SPCX) and Jabil (JBL), which is hitting record highs on growing AI optimism.

Got some trending tickers for you now. Looking at Lionsgate, Netflix, AST SpaceMobile, and Jabil. First up, Lionsgate and Netflix.

Now, Lionsgate shares have been rising in recent days and that's on speculation and a report in Semaphore that Netflix was looking at some acquisitions and that Lionsgate would be a potential target.

But then an industry uh digital publication called the Rap reporting that, no, that's not the case. A Netflix spokesperson says uh that they're they're not interested and they are not planning to pursue that acquisition. Again, that coming from the wrap.

So Lionsgate shares were or are actually down about 6% after that big rally that they've seen in recent days. Netflix shares are also down. And Netflix shares by the way, have been um weak as of late, even as we've seen the rest of tech be pretty active here.

Netflix shares are down pretty sharply uh year to date. I think the tally is now about 17% down this year.

Um we've been talking a lot about the space economy as of late and this is one of the stocks that had gotten caught in the updraft ahead of the SpaceX IPO and then we saw these names have some volatility afterwards. Today it's up again. AST Space Mobile is up by 4%.

Um the company launched three satellites, Bluebirds 8, 9 and 10. They were actually launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket into space.

AST has said its plan is to have 45 satellites in orbit by year end. So it's planning to follow 8, nine and 10 with 11, 12 and 13, but we'll see if they get to that 45 by year end. But again, the stock is up on the back of that.

And then finally, looking at Jabil, the contract electronics maker is up 4 and a half percent today and those shares are trading at a record. This is one of these examples of a sort of legacy company, in this case an electronics maker that has been um that has been caught up in the AI trade as well.

And the company just came out with earnings here and raised its guidance for the full year as well. Um, Baird analyst Luke Juk uh out saying that the intelligent infrastructure results were relatively in line, but there was upside driven by connected living and digital commerce, um and that Jabil is a multifaceted enabler of key secular trends including the trend for AI, and that's benefiting from the sort of internet of things trend as well.

So again, those Jabil shares at a record.
