SaaS as a sector has been absolutely annihilated lately. The technological moat has been lowered - but these companies still have brand reputation, customer relations, competencies (human capital) and data advantages.
Traditionally these companies provide a very scalable business model, with high margins and recurring revenue. Which makes me believe, the selloff is massively overdone.
In some ways SaaS is a bet against; the narrative that AI is making these businesses reluctant. I am not going to write a long AI bear thesis, that is not the point of this post.
Point is, any exciting SaaS companies you are currently looking at?
To contribute a bit to the discussion -> My only current bet is Trifork AG; a Danish/Swiss software consultancy and SaaS company. The bull thesis rests on their current transition from selling hours - to selling applications.
