Oracle (ORCL) announced plans to establish connectivity between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Amazon Web Services through a collaboration linking Oracle Interconnect with AWS Interconnect-multicloud services.
The connectivity will provide customers with private, managed connections to run applications and transfer data between the two cloud platforms. The service is planned to launch later this year in the AWS US East region.
"Oracle continues to advance multicloud connectivity as part of its commitment to helping customers unlock flexibility, agility, and performance across clouds," said Nathan Thomas, senior vice president of product management at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
The collaboration builds on Oracle’s existing Oracle AI Database@AWS offering and aims to support both full and split-stack multicloud deployments. The connection will allow organizations to use multiple cloud providers without managing separate network providers or installing physical network infrastructure.
Oracle’s multicloud networking currently spans 26 interconnected partner cloud regions. The company operates distributed cloud services including public cloud regions, dedicated cloud solutions, hybrid cloud offerings, and multicloud services deployed within AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
Oracle noted that the announcement represents future product plans that may change and should not be considered a commitment to deliver specific functionality or features.
