I don’t know if this post is ok for this sub but I think it is? I was just reading a post about long term investing after thinking how high stock prices can get. Seeing as that’s the general idea, right? You invest and buy dips or the market drops. Then it rebounds stronger and you come out ahead. Which made me remember, isn’t society likely to collapse in 50 years or less? So I found this VICE article saying that also and if it’s allowed I’ll post the link in a comment.
We can’t change anything large scale unless we work together so do we just ignore that part? It’s not important now but could be if or when I retire. Anyways temperatures are rising, new diseases could pop up like Covid, and then the whole AI thing. Companies want to remove humans from the work and they will as quickly as they can. We’ve seen that multiple times already and the CEO of Nvidia even brought it up about Chinese factories being all robots sometimes. Everyone also talks about the bubble we’re supposedly in and general sentiment in my peers and state are things keep getting worse.
I guess my question is in the post but if that happens what do you do then? If the government doesn’t freeze everyone’s funds or what not. Similar to how if SPY drops 20% in a day then the markets close.
Which stocks are best to invest in if it did?
Edit: I guess I should have specified this is not a doomsday post JFC. It’s a question i was curious about I don’t think the world’s going to end. If it did though I’m going to take as much as I can from you people
