Japan Airlines signs 10-yr maintenance deal with GE Aerospace

Investing.com-- Japan Airlines Co Ltd (TYO:9201) signed a 10-year maintenance and overhaul deal with GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) to cover its Boeing 787 fleet, the companies announced on Tuesday.

GE Aerospace’s facility in Brisbane, Australia, will provide repair and stock support services to Japan Airlines’ Boeing 787 avionics systems.

Japan Airlines has a long-standing, multi-decade relationship with GE, dating back to the CF6 engine in the 1970s. More recently, Japan Airlines was among the first airlines to select the GEnx engine.

In July 2024, the airline had ordered a slew of GEnx-1B engines to power its order of up to 20 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
