Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.96%, while the MDAX index added 1.63%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which rose 5.78% or 2.80 points to trade at 51.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 4.87% or 6.85 points to end at 147.60 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 4.12% or 1.25 points to 31.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 3.06% or 0.67 points to trade at 21.22 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 2.21% or 1.24 points to end at 54.94 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 2.05% or 0.44 points to 21.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which rose 8.93% to 12.69, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 7.91% to settle at 16.50 and AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which gained 6.77% to close at 16.25.
The worst performers were TKMS GmbH (ETR:TKMS) which was down 5.12% to 80.60 in late trade, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which lost 2.77% to settle at 32.32 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.60% to 44.26 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Ottobock SE & Co KgaA (ETR:OBCK) which rose 7.45% to 49.88, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 6.05% to settle at 55.25 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 5.82% to close at 14.55.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.42% to 4.15 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 3.16% to settle at 38.06 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.60% to 44.26 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 348 to 296 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.05% or 0.44 to 21.00. Shares in Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.77% or 0.92 to 32.32. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.42% or 0.15 to 4.15.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.77% to 31.29 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 4.32% or 199.14 to $4,410.46 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 8.51% or 8.36 to hit $89.87 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 8.41% or 8.95 to trade at $97.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 99.07.
