I don't know much about stuff but it seems like the US hegemony may fall soon and with that the US dollar. This would kill index funds in the US and maybe around the world, and so I was wondering how could one protect their wealth during such an event?

Should you move your wealth from stocks to properties like homes? But then if the country's economy is dying, wouldnt the value of the property die as well? Also, you wouldn't own the property right away, you'd own like a big loan on your head and would only fully own it until you pay the loan off (I could be wrong).

Should you invest in stocks of other countries whose economies haven't been impacted as much? But then you're moving your wealth to another country without being the citizen or resident of that country which probably introduces other risks.
