- An individual investor seeks a single ticker investment for a taxable brokerage account, beyond broad market ETFs, with a 20-year horizon. The goal is a 'set it and forget it' investment, potentially a dividend stock or blue-chip, suitable for future options strategies. This reflects a shift from active stock picking to passive, long-term investing, a common sentiment that can influence flows into specific sectors or dividend-focused ETFs.

I’ve played around in my self-brokerage account for the past 7 years and I’ve had it with trying to be a stock picker.
Work retirement account match is maxed and so is a Roth IRA every year. Board market, low cost index ETFs.
So my questions is, what would be your “set it and forget it single ticker” for my regular brokerage account? I’m not looking for just another broad market ETF.
Dividend stock, single blue chip? Something that I could sell calls against/wheel in latter years for fun?
I want something I can look back on in 20 years and say, yeah that was a good choice.
Thanks for any ideas.
