Investing.com-- Trend Micro shares rose sharply on Thursday after the Japanese cybersecurity firm announced a partnership with Anthropic to incorporate its Claude artificial intelligence models.

Trend Micro Inc. (TYO:4704) shares jumped nearly 12% to 6,100.0 yen, and were among the best performers on the Nikkei 225 index, which jumped over 2% to a record high. Trend Micro shares briefly hit a near three-month high of 6,294.0 yen.

TrendAI, the company’s enterprise cybersecurity arm, announced a partnership with Anthropic to work on AI agentic automation, AI-native security operations, and to develop systems aimed at identifying vulnerabilities in AI systems.

The partnership comes amid increased investor focus on AI-linked cybersecurity, especially after Anthropic unveiled its Mythos AI model, which it claimed was too powerful to release to the public due to its ability to find several high-severity vulnerabilities.
