What do you actually do if you want more than index fund returns but no effort?

The honest answer might be "accept that you can't have both" but I'm not fully convinced.

Index funds give you market returns with minimal effort. Getting above-market returns has always required either: (a) a lot of effort yourself, (b) paying someone a lot of money, or (c) taking on more risk.

Is there now an option (d)? Like following a skilled investor's live strategy automatically through a regulated platform, at a subscription cost rather than a % of AUM, with fractional execution so you don't need a large minimum?
