- The author speculates that Elon Musk might make a counteroffer for Globalstar (GSAT), following Amazon's announced takeover bid. The rationale is based on potential synergies between GSAT's broadband licenses and Starlink's infrastructure, enabling diversification into satellite phone services. The author also suggests a competitive dynamic between Musk and Bezos as a potential motivator. However, this is purely speculative and the likelihood of a counteroffer is uncertain.

Since the announced takeover from Amazon for GSAT came in today, do you think there is any chance Musk will counter with a higher bid?
Since GSAT owns licences for some broadband signal, Starlink can probably see huge synergies as they have arguably the best infractructure for them to diversify from satelite internet to satelite phone signal with fraction od the price the rumored IPO will net. And on top of that, Musk is not a Bezos fan and i would think he would be the first one to try to strongarm amazon to either pay more or hurt them (and benefit himself) by trying to go after GSAT himself. From Musk's standpoint this acquistions makes perfect sense
