Investing.com - The U.S. economy added fewer jobs than anticipated in September, according to Labor Department figures on Friday which are likely to factor into how the Federal Reserve approaches its next interest rate decision.
Nonfarm payrolls for September came in at 29,000, compared to expectations of 89,000 and 162,000 in August.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.2%, versus projections that it would match August's level of 4.1%.
